Rare ticket stub issued for Game 1 of the 1925 World Series held at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh on October 7th. PSA has graded the ticket stub PR 1 (MK). This is one of only six examples ever evaluated by PSA. The 1925 World Series matched the defending champion Washington Senators against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This was a historic series as it marked the first time in World Series play that a team overcame a three-games-to-one deficit to win the World Championship. The club that accomplished that feat was the Pirates, who defeated Walter Johnson 9-7 in the seventh game to win their second World Series. Johnson had shut down the Pirates in his previous two starts, including Game 1, when he allowed just one run on five hits in Washington's 4-1 victory. The ticket (4-3/8 x 2 inches) displays heavy creasing and the final score written on the reverse. Reserve $200.
