Presented is a complete 66-card set of 1961-1962 Fleer Basketball, one of the very few basketball sets issued during this era. Included are many rookie cards (two each) of key Hall of Famers, including Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, and Jerry West. Varying degrees of pencil writing is visible on the reverse of 61% of the cards in this complete set. Without further reference to the pencil marks, the condition is 27% Nr/Mt, 56% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 17% Vg to Vg-Ex (including some due solely to centering). We have selected six cards for grading and encapsulation by SGC. Keys (pencil on the reverse, unless noted): #1 Attles RC (90/10 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt+), 3 Baylor RC (EX 5), 8 Chamberlain RC (GOOD+ 2.5), 10 Cousy (Ex), 16 Greer RC (Ex due to centering), 23 Jones RC (no pencil, Ex-Mt), 36 Robertson RC (EX 5), 38 Russell (EX 5), 43 West RC (VG/EX+ 4.5), 44 Wilkins RC (0/100 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 46 Baylor IA (no pencil, Nr/Mt), 47 Chamberlain IA (next card showing, otherwise Ex-Mt+), 61 Robertson IA (30/70 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt), 62 Russell IA (NM 7), and 66 West IA (no pencil, Ex+). This is a very attractive complete set of this significant basketball issue, technically mixed-grade due to the presence of pencil on most of the card backs, loaded with all of the great stars and Hall of Famers of the era.
