Jeff Hostetler salesman's sample 1990 New York Giants championship ring commemorating the Giants' dramatic 20-19 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV. This ring, manufactured by Balfour for use by the company's sales personnel, is virtually identical in design to the actual rings presented to the Giants players and executives. The front of the ring features two football-shaped cubic zirconia set upon a blue stone. Eight smaller cubic zirconia are displayed above and below the blue stone. The lettering along the bezel reads "Giants World Champions." One shank features the name "Hostetler," Hostetler's number, "15," and a representation of a New York Giants football helmet. The opposite shank features the NFL logo, the score of the game, "20-19," and representations of two footballs, each representing one of the two Super Bowls won by the club at that time. A serial number is engraved on the interior along with the manufacturer's initials, "LCB." Salesman's sample rings are scarce because they were expensive sales tool which, understandably, were not given away as promotional gifts. They are very popular with collectors when available, and represent a relatively affordable alternative to either a player ring or team-executive ring. Near Mint condition. Approximate Size: 9.75. Approximate Weight: 35 grams. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
