The impressive graphics on the cover and game board of Christy Mathewson's "Big Six" Indoor Baseball game makes it a favorite among collectors. Offered is the "Big Six" game box top and rear panel, along with the magnificent interior game board. The elaborately designed game board features generic illustrations of ballplayers in the field. Attached directly to the board at the center of this circle is a large cardboard spinner reading "Spin the Pitcher" with an image of Mathewson in a pitching pose at one end; when spun, Mathewson points to the play options. The box cover (16.5 x 22.75 inches) displays scattered staining and a four-inch vertical tear at the base. The game board (16 x 22 inches) displays a number of tiny pinholes, as expected (pins were used to represent the players and also marked the outs, strikes, ball, and runs), and light staining. Accompanied by many of the pins and the player names (held by the pins), and pieces of the side flaps. In Fair condition overall, but still suitable for display. Reserve $100. Estimate (open).
