Complete set of forty-five cards (4.25 x 8.5 inches), similar in design to the H813 Boston Garter series, issued by the Helmar Brewing Company. This is undoubtedly one of the most attractive of all Helmar card sets and one that artfully captures the spirit of the originals. It should be noted that this issue was produced only during the two-year period 2012-2013 and has been completed, with forty-five cards comprising the set. All of the cards bear a "2012" copyright stamp on the reverse. Total production was limited to just twenty sets. Dozens of stars and Hall of Famers are represented, with both Major Leaguers and Negro Leaguers present, including Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson, Babe Ruth, Joe Jackson, Nap Lajoie, Cy Young, Jim Thorpe, Cristobal Torriente, and Oscar Charleston, among others. We have presented partial sets in the past, with prices realized exceeding $100 per card in some instances. Like all of the Helmar issues, these cards were intentionally produced with a distressed look, with most having rounded corners and rubbed edges. Near Mint condition overall. Total: 45 cards.
