Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Extremely attractive example of a 1948 American Association card featuring the legendary Babe Ruth. Issued shortly after Ruth’s death in 1948 by (as noted on the reverse) the Midwestern AAA minor league known as the American Association. The card (4 x 5-11/16 inches) features a black-and white portrait of Ruth in uniform with his career statistics on the reverse. Crisp and clean, both front and back, with light wear on the corners, and a boldly printed reverse. A couple light creases account for the assigned grade. This is a striking example of this often overlooked card, issued after his Hall of Fame career. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
