Modestly graded example of Babe Ruth from the W516-1 strip-card series. Ruth is depicted in a pitching pose as a member of the New York Yankees. W516-1 are rarely deemed worthy of numerically grading; due to its ideal cut, this is one of the few exceptions! Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC (submitted by REA), the card displays a crisp image, bold colors, and centering to the extreme left. The corners are evenly rounded, and several light creases are present throughout the card. The blank reverse is evenly toned. This is a very presentable (numerically graded!) lower-grade example of one of Babe Ruth's most classic 1920s strip-cards and one that would be a significant addition to any Babe Ruth, strip-card, or prewar-card collection. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
