Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. This is the ONLY example ever graded by PSA! Presented is an extremely rare 1938 R69 "Horrors of War" unopened one-cent wax pack containing two cards from the rare high-number series (#241-288), one of the most elusive treasures of all nonsports unopened-pack collecting. This is the first example we have ever offered, and to the best of our knowledge, this is one of only two examples known to exist! (The other example is offered in this auction as well.) The pack also has a unique provenance. It, along with other vintage gum boxes and gum-related material, was just recently discovered. (The additional unopened packs consigned from this find are featured in nine separate lots in this auction.) The pack is very tightly sealed, with crisp colors, boldly printed text, and a half-inch tear at the top right-side corner. This is an extraordinarily rare unopened high-number pack from one of the most popular and sought after of all sets from the 1930s which would be a tremendous companion piece to any 1938 R69 "Horrors of War" complete set or an incredible addition to even the most advanced nonsports or unopened-pack collection. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
