Full ticket (gold variation) to the heavyweight championship boxing match between champion Muhammad Ali and challenger Sonny Liston held at St. Dominic's Arena in Lewiston, Maine, on May 25, 1965. Graded NM 7 by PSA/DNA. The ticket, issued for an "Arena" seat, features photos of the respective fighters This was the controversial rematch which ended in a first-round knockout by Ali after he downed Liston with what is known today as "the phantom punch." It is also the bout that produced one of the most iconic photographs in all of sports: Neil Leifer's image of Ali standing triumphantly over the fallen Liston. The ticket (5.25 x 2.25 inches) is accompanied by a sheet of publicity letterhead from the fight (8.5 x 14 inches; three horizontal folds; Ex) and ticket mailing envelope (9.5 x 4 inches; Ex-Mt).
