Bank check, dated October 2, 1963, signed in blue ink by legendary heavyweight boxing champion Rocky Marciano. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the check and graded the signature MINT 9. The check, drawn on The Bank of Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida, is made out to “Trust Company of Morris County” in the amount of $250. Signed “Rocky Marciano” along the base. Rocky Marciano is the only heavyweight-boxing champion in history to retire undefeated. Unfortunately, his untimely death in 1969, one day before his forty-sixth birthday, has resulted in the scarcity of his signature examples today. The very few checks from the Marciano estate that have surfaced in recent years have quickly disappeared into collections and are not readily available in the marketplace. The check (6 x 2.75 inches), which has normal bank cancellation stamps and holes, displays a small abrasion in the lower left corner and a few small written notation along the top border.
