Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Exceptionally crisp high-grade rookie card of Hall of Famer Bobby Orr from the extremely desirable 1966-1967 Topps Test USA Hockey set. Topps Test USA cards are much more desirable than regular-issue Topps cards from the same year due to their more limited distribution. They are distinguishable from regular-issue cards by comparing the color of the wood grain (lighter on Test cards) and the text on the reverse (no French on the Test cards). From the first time that Bobby Orr played professional hockey it was obvious that his influence would change the game forever. One of the all-time great defensemen, Orr showed that players at his position could become an offensive force as well. He played just nine full seasons, but his legend was so great that he was elected into Hockey's Hall of Fame in the same year he retired, 1979. This card is especially difficult to find in high grade because of the brown flush-to-the-border design of the set. The offered example has four sharp corners with just a hint of wear showing at the tips, flawless colors and clarity, and virtually no wear to the condition-sensitive brown borders. Bright, crisp, and clean. Centered slightly to the top and with a clean reverse (light toning along the top edge is mentioned for accuracy). This is a very attractive high-grade example of this important rookie card, which is considered by many to be one of the all-time classic hockey cards and one of the key cards in the extremely desirable 1966-1967 Topps Test USA set. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000+.
