New York Yankees road jersey worn by first baseman Danny Cater in 1970. Graded A10 by MEARS. The gray flannel jersey is lettered "New York" across the front and features the number "10" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in navy felt. The player's name, year, and jersey size ("Cater 70-42") are chain-stitched in navy upon a gray strip tag located in the collar. A "Wilson 42" label appears on the left front tail. The jersey is original as issued, with no alterations. Heavy wear is exhibited throughout, including light soiling. 1970 marked Cater's first season with the Yankees and he finished the year with 6 home runs, 76 RBI, and a .301 average, which helped lead the Yankees to 93 wins and a surprising second-place finish in the American League East Division. Graded A10 by MEARS (base grade of 10, with no deductions). LOA from Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
