Rare cigar box displaying a team photo of the 1951 National League Champion New York Giants on the lid. The unique design features a green-leather exterior, with the team photo printed on an inlaid stone slab. The New York Giants team logo and year are printed on the interior of the lid. The name of the recipient, "Shirley Gray," is printed on the front panel. This is just the second example of this cigar box we have ever seen. While there is no formal documentation accompanying the piece, we believe these cigar boxes were presented only to team employees. If so, that would explain their great rarity today. The box (7.5 x 4.5 x 2.5) displays moderate-to-heavy wear to the leather exterior, including small abrasions and nicks. In Good to Very Good condition overall.  Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
