Scarce ticket stub issued for the fourth game of the 1911 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants, held at Shibe Park in Philadelphia on October 24th. Game 4 of the 1911 World Series featured a pitching rematch between Game 1 starters Christy Mathewson and Chief Bender. While Mathewson got the best of Bender and the A's in the first game, Bender evened the score with a 4-2 win in Game 4, which gave Philadelphia a commanding 3-1 lead in the Series. The A's eventually won the Series in 6 games to claim their second consecutive World Championship. The ticket stub (4 x 1.75 inches) displays a few light creases, a tiny corner chip in the upper right, and a tiny edge tear. In Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
