Official American League (Brown) ball signed in black felt-tip marker across the sweet spot by Hall of Fame first baseman Hank Greenberg. The signature has been boldly scripted and grades "9/10." Hank Greenberg single-signed balls have always been particularly scarce and very high on collectors' want lists. Today, the demand outweighs the supply by a considerable margin. The reason for that, in part, is because Greenberg passed away in 1986, before single-signed baseballs became universally recognized as the ideal and values began to skyrocket in response to collector demand. Based upon the manufacturer's stampings, this ball was produced between the years 1985 and 1989; therefore, it was signed sometime within the last two years of Greenberg's life. The ball displays both light-to-moderate toning and soiling. In Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
