Presented is one of the most incredible pieces of unopened material that we have ever had the privilege of offering: an extraordinary unopened hobby case of 1993 Upper Deck SP, featuring eighteen unopened boxes, each containing twenty-four packs housing twelve cards, for a total of 5,184 cards from this desirable modern baseball issue. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first complete factory-sealed case of 1993 Upper Deck SP to ever be offered at auction! This case comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The "factory-sealed" distinction is particularly important and makes the offered case even more impressive. This case has never been opened and comes exactly as it came off the line from Upper Deck in 1993! With the possibility of finding a Derek Jeter rookie card, the demand for these boxes has risen to extraordinary heights. In REA's Fall 2019 auction, three individual boxes were offered, one of which sold for $4,440 and two of which hammered at $4,320. The same auction featured a staggering $168,000 sale for a PSA 10 example of Jeter's iconic rookie card. The 1993 Upper Deck SP Derek Jeter has experienced a great surge in interest and pricing recently with Jeter's induction into the Hall of Fame earlier this year. 1993 Upper Deck SP is one of the most desirable modern baseball issues. Within the realm of unopened material, a sealed case of 1993 Upper Deck SP would be considered by many to be the rarest and most sought after grail of the last thirty years. This case has been carefully stored by our consignor since the year of issue. The original factory seals are intact with very minor outer box wear. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a sealed case of this premiere modern baseball card issue, which would be a highlight in even the most advanced collection of unopened material! The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $25,000. Estimate $50,000+.
