Rare block of four 1939 Centennial of Baseball 3-cent stamps, with each stamp signed by Babe Ruth on the front. Ruth has boldly signed each stamp in black ink, with the signatures grading "8/9" overall. The small nature of these stamps makes them very difficult to sign. We have seen a small number signed by Ruth and other players, but these are easily among the finest with regard to the quality of the signatures, which are neither cramped nor heavily smeared. The block (4.125 x 2.125 inches) remains in its original non-perforated state and is in Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $2,000. Estimate (open).
