Postwar Baseball - 1960s Cards
Presented is a rare original unopened vending box of 1968 Topps baseball containing approximately 500 cards from the first series (#1-109) and seventh series (#534-598), which includes Hall of Famers Brooks Robinson, Tom Seaver, Willie Mays, Rod Carew, and Jim Palmer, as well as all the other stars of the day. Unopened boxes of any type from the 1960s are very rare! This is the first vending box from this year that we have ever offered, and we have seen only two others at public auction in the last decade. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, it is very possible that these boxes include Mint or Gem Mint examples of the listed Hall of Famers and others! This box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The box is in excellent condition, with minor shelf wear, including light creasing and the notation "1968 #7" noted on the lid. This is a very impressive unopened vending box which would be a worthy addition to even the most advanced collection of 1968 Topps or unopened material. Opening Bid $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000+.
