Graded EX+ 5.5 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by SGC with none higher! Presented is an exceptional high-grade example of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski from the extremely rare 1968 Topps Disc test issue. This is the first time REA has ever had the privilege of offering any examples from this very desirable test issue. Topps produced two test disc sets in 1967 (the other being the San Francisco Giants set) and a third in 1968, which evidently are prototypes for pinback button sets that were never actually issued. Printed on silver-foil cardboard, the offered disc measures 2.25 inches in diameter and features a color portrait of Yaz. It is interesting to note that even among Topps test set collectors, few have ever encountered, or are even familiar with, this extremely rare set. The offered example is bright and clean, with vibrant colors and a flawless image. The blank back is perfectly clean.
