Cincinnati Reds ticket stub, issued for the club's home opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 8, 1963, at Crosley Field in which Pete Rose made his Major League debut. Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. This is the ONLY example of this ticket stub listed in the PSA Population Report and the first we have seen. Rose, who was 21 years old at the time, went 0 for 3 with a walk in the Reds' 5-2 win. Although his debut was inauspicious, Rose finished his rookie season with 6 home runs, 41 RBI, and a .273 average, numbers which earned him the Rookie of the Year Award. The ticket (2.5 x 1.25 inches), issued for a "Sun Deck" seat, displays a moderate crease near the right border. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
