Graded NM 7 (MC) by PSA. High-grade example of what is universally recognized as one of Mantle's most classic cards. In addition to being one of Mantle's most striking and popular cards, this card dates from one of Mantle's MVP years and follows his finest season (1956 triple crown stats: 52 home runs, 130 RBI, .353 batting average). Getting this card in a pack in 1957 was as good as it got. The image used on the card features a young "Mick" in a mighty swing-through pose. This example boasts perfect registration, strong corners, a flawless surface, and centering toward the far right. The reverse is centered to the extreme bottom edge. The SMR lists a value of $600 for PSA EX 5, $800 for PSA EX-MT 6, and a value of $1,750 for PSA NM 7. This card is difficult to value in that we believe it is very accurately graded and, as stated by the label, it is in NM condition, yet it is appropriately qualified for centering. Whatever the value, this is a high-quality card of Mickey Mantle, the key card from the 1957 Topps set. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
