Land grant, dated September 1, 1825, signed by John Quincy Adams (1767-1848), sixth President of the United States. The document, both printed and handwritten, grants Joseph Mofs of Chenango County of New York, "seventy two acres and eighty four hundredths of an acre" of land located in Detroit, Michigan. It has been signed in black ink (grading "6") by "J. Q. Adams," as President, and by the commissioner of the land office. The original paper seal (faded) remains firmly affixed in the lower left corner. The document (15.5 x 9 inches; visible dimensions) displays heavy folds (as issued) and a few small tears in the upper right corner. In apparent Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Matted and framed together with an engraving (5 x 7 inches) of Adams and a descriptive plaque. Total dimensions: 30.5 x 20 inches. Full LOA from Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication.
