Official National League (Giles) ball signed in blue ink by 31 members of the 1969 World Champion New York Mets. Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA/DNA (PSA/DNA has graded the signatures NM-MT 8 and the ball NM-MT 8, resulting in an overall grade of NM-MT+ 8.5. As noted in its accompanying letter, PSA/DNA can add or subtract a half point from the average of the two grades based upon eye appeal.) This is one of the finest 1969 New York Mets team-signed balls we have ever seen. Most significant is the presence of Manager Gil Hodges' signature on the ball. 1969 New York Mets team-signed balls featuring authentic Gil Hodges signatures are the rare exception rather than the rule, making this an especially highly prized example dating from the most memorable season in franchise history. In fact, most 1969 Mets team balls are actually reunion balls, dating from decades after the 1969 season, which, of course, do not include Hodges. This is a rare and ideal original dating from 1969. Hodges has personalized the ball on the sweet spot "To David/Best Wishes/Gil Hodges." The remaining 30 signatures on the ball are those of Seaver, Berra (coach), Ryan, Dyer, Gaspar, Shamsky, Agee, Swoboda, Jones, Koosman, Koonce, McAndrew, Gentry, Grote, Boswell, Weiss, Harrelson, Hunt, Clendenon, Pfeil, Martin, McGraw, Pignatano, Walker (coach), Dilauro, Charles, Cardwell, Garrett, Kranepool, and Yost (coach). Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
