Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of only three examples graded at this level with none higher out of fifty examples evaluated by PSA to date. Presented is an exceptional ultra high-grade example of Harry Beecher, the very first football card ever issued as part of the very popular and colorful set of fifty N162 Goodwin Champions, issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen. Considered by many to be the most beautiful of all nineteenth-century tobacco-card issues, the N162 Goodwin Champions set has cemented its place as one of the premier trading-card sets ever produced from any era. The offered gem is bright and crisp, with brilliant colors, flawless registration, four strong corners, and outstanding centering. Boldly printed reverse with a faint hint of toning on the upper left (mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). This is an extraordinary ultra high-grade example of one of the most important cards in its respective set and one of the most famous football cards of the era, worthy of even the most advanced football or key-card collection.
