Rarely offered complete 66-card set of 1966 Topps "Get Smart," based on the popular TV show. Get Smart, which debuted in 1965, was the brainchild of Mel Brooks and will forever stand as the ultimate send-up of the spy genre. The show, which introduced the world to KAOS, the cone of silence, Hymie the robot, and shoe phones, was also memorable for its repeated use of a number of key catch phrases that are still widely referenced today, including "Missed it by that much," "And loving it," and "Would you believe..." Get Smart was a sensation in the 1960s, and it was only natural that Topps would honor the popular show with its own trading-card set. The condition is 39% Ex to Ex-Mt, 49% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 12% lesser (including one with a slight trim at the perforations). The set is accompanied by an original wrapper (Gd) and a two-card panel #46/51 (20/80 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt). This is a very crisp, clean, and overall high-quality set that presents beautifully and would be at home in any collection of 1960s nonsports cards or television-related collectibles. Total: 68 items (66-card set plus wrapper and two-card panel). Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
