Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Extremely attractive example of Detroit Red Wings Hall of Famer Gordie Howe from the landmark 1954-1955 Topps Hockey series, the first hockey set issued by Topps. The flush-to-the-bottom-border design of the 1954-1955 Topps Hockey set makes this issue particularly susceptible to edge and corner wear so finding high-grade examples is extremely difficult. Bright, crisp, and clean, the offered example is entirely deserving of its assigned grade, with brilliant colors, outstanding centering, four strong corners, and very light wear on the bottom edge. Clean reverse. This is a tremendous mid-grade example of one of Gordie Howe's most classic cards from this extremely popular hockey-card set. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
