Original photograph of Hall of Fame shortstop Rabbit Maranville taken by renowned baseball photographer Charles Conlon. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The photo captures Maranville batting practice prior to a game as a member of the Boston Braves. Conlon’s credit stamp appears on the reverse, as do his handwritten notations that read “Maranville Boston Nat.” A few additional ink notations (not in Conlon’s hand) also appear on the reverse. This is a very early image of Maranville which, based upon the uniform style shown, dates from the three-year period 1913 to 1915. The photo (7 x 9.5 inches) displays a chip in the upper right corner and a wavy bottom border; otherwise it is in Excellent condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
