Ticket stub (1.25 x 3 inches) from Game 4 of the infamous 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds, held at Comiskey Park in Chicago on October 4th. Encapsulated and certified as "Authentic" by PSA. Tickets from Game 4 of the 1919 World Series are exceedingly rare. This is one of only three examples certified by PSA. It is also the first example we have ever offered. Chicago mound ace Eddie Cicotte started his second game of the Series in Game 4 and although he pitched better than his first start, the result was the same: another loss for the White Sox. Reds hurler Jimmy Ring shut out the White Sox 2-0, allowing just three hits in his only start of the Series. Ironically, those three hits came off the bats of Joe Jackson, Hap Felsch, and Chick Gandil, all of whom were later banned from baseball for conspiring to "throw" the Series. The ticket stub displays a few moderate creases but presents at a much higher level than that suggested by its technically accurate grade of Good. The 1919 World Series is still the most famous and talked about World Series in baseball history. As such, all tickets from the Series have a historical significance and universal appeal that transcends ticket collecting.
