Ticket stub (1.25 x 3 inches) from Game 3 of the infamous 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds, held at Comiskey Park in Chicago on October 3rd. Encapsulated and certified as "Authentic" by PSA. This is a scarce ticket from the Series and one of only eight Game 3 ticket stubs certified by PSA. Chicago White Sox pitcher Dickie Kerr, who was not in on the fix, gave Chicago its first win of the Series by shutting out the Reds 3-0 on three hits. Not surprisingly, Kerr was on the mound for two of Chicago's three wins in the Series, which the Reds eventually won in eight games (the Series was a best of nine in 1919). The ticket stub displays a number of heavy creases and an irregular tear at the base that has resulted in a small area of paper loss. The 1919 World Series is still the most famous and talked about World Series in baseball history. As such, all tickets from the Series have a historical significance and universal appeal that transcends ticket collecting.
