Presented are two of the key rarities needed for any complete 1952 Topps master set: #48 Joe Page and 49 Johnny Sain, each with incorrect biographies on the reverse. Somehow during production, the biographies for Page and Sain were switched, resulting in black-back variations of each player featuring the other's bio. The error was ultimately corrected, thus creating two unusual and very well known back-variation rarities in the 1952 Topps set. Both cards are professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (submitted by REA), with #48 Page grading EX-MT 6 (bright, crisp, and clean, with strong corners and centering toward the right) and #49 Sain grading VG-EX 4 (bright colors, even corner wear, and centering toward the top left). Each is an appealing example that would be a worthy addition to any 1952 Topps complete master set. The SMR for just the Page in the assigned grade is $1,050. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $300.
