Photo capturing Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, posing with Lefty O'Doul and a young fan, during the famous "Bustin' Babes and Larrupin' Lou's" barnstorming tour in fall 1927. Certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. An NEA credit stamp, dated "Nov 2 1927," appears on the reverse, as does the original paper news caption, dated "Oct 21." The caption reads in full: "Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, the fence busters of the big league, arrive in San Francisco for a series of exhibition games. They are greeted by 'Lefty' O'Doul, hero of the San Francisco coast league, who has been sold to the New York Giants. Left to right: 'Lefty O'Doul, 'Babe' Ruth holding a youthful San Francisco admirer, and Lou Gehrig." The photo (8.5 x 6.5 inches) displays a few small surface emulsions and light creasing.
