Rarely offered near-complete set of nineteen (of the 24 in the set) posters from the Topps "Batty Book Covers" series. Issued by Topps in 1968, this unusual set contains twenty-four "book covers" that measure 11-1/8 by 18-3/4 inches and feature humorous captions that are complemented by one of Basil Wolverton's outlandish images. Missing only five posters for completion: #3, 7, 8, 10, and 21. Also included are seven duplicates (two #15, 18, two 20, 22, and 24). The posters range in condition from Vg to Ex-Mt with a few lesser due to tears in the fragile stock or toning related to age. This is an outstanding collection from this unusual 1960s Topps nonsport issue. Total: 26 posters. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
