Ticket stub and program from the San Francisco Giants' first game played at Candlestick Park on April 12, 1960. The Giants opened the season against the St. Louis Cardinals and a crowd of 42,265 watched the club christen its new stadium with a 3-1 victory. 1) Ticket Stub. PSA has encapsulated and graded the stub GOOD 2. This is one only nine examples ever evaluated by PSA, and one of just four to receive a numerical grade (two are graded highrer). The ticket stub, issued for a “Lower Stand Box, “ displays a paperclip impression along the top, which was the main reason for its graded of “Good” by PSA. Aside from that the stub is in Excellent condition overall. 2) Program. The 22-page program, which is dated “1960” on the cover, features the Cardinals team name preprinted on the interior score sheet. The program is not scored, but the lineups for the opening game, with Sam Jones (Cardinals) and Larry Jackson (Giants) listed as the starting pitchers, have been filled out by hand in blue ink. The umpires for the game are also correctly listed by hand on the scoring page. 6.5 x 10 inches. Vg-Ex. Total: 2 items (ticket stub and program). Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
