New York Giants sterling-silver season pass, designed in the shape of a fence, issued for the 1924 season. From 1919 through 1931 the New York Giants issued beautifully designed sterling-silver passes to season-ticket holders and select dignitaries. Those passes, uniquely designed in a variety of shapes and baseball motifs (usually in relief), entitled the bearer to entry to every Giants game at the Polo Grounds during the respective season. All are rare, especially those from the earlier years of the series. The front of the offered pass (.75 x 1.25 inches) bears the team name ("Giants"), the year ("1924"), and the name of the team owner ("Chas. A. Stoneham Pres."). The reverse features the engraved name of the original owner and the official pass number ("Francis Wood 312"), as well as the name of the manufacturer ("Lambert Bros., N.Y."). The pass displays natural tarnishing consistent with its age (it could easily be polished to perfection if desired), and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
