Chicago Cubs ticket stub issued for the game in which Ernie Banks hit his 500th home run. Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA/DNA. This is 1 of only 2 ticket stubs graded at this level by PSA, with just 1 graded higher. Banks’ historic blast, a solo shot, occurred in the second inning of a game against the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field and came at the expense of Pat Jarvis. At the time, Banks was one of only 9 players to reach that lofty mark. The offered stub (2 x 2 inches), which is a $1 “Senior Citizen” ticket, is dated stamped “May 12, 1970” on the front. Only 5,264 fans attended this game, which has resulted in the ticket's scarcity today. This is only the second example we have ever offered, and we cannot recall having seen more than a few others at auction in the past twenty years.
