Extremely attractive original one-cent display box from the 1962 Topps "Baseball Bucks" baseball series, which originally housed 120 penny packs of this unusual issue. "Baseball Bucks" were not an "insert" issue; they were sold and packaged on their own, and in very limited quantities. In many ways, this set could be described as one of Topps' earliest "test' sets. This extremely unusual set features player portraits on dollar bills. This is a particularly rare display box, the first we have ever handled, and the only example we have seen available at public auction in the last ten years. Brilliant red and yellow design, featuring an illustration of a boy surrounded by dollar bills, and an example of an issued "Baseball Buck" on the front panel. The box displays moderate creasing throughout, with shelf wear at the corners and along the edges. A superb companion piece to any complete 1962 Topps "Baseball Bucks" set or addition to any advertising or display collection. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
