Offered is a desirable piece of baseball history in the form of an original, freestanding, single seat from Yankee Stadium. This seat, bearing the stenciled seat number "7," was one of many saved from the wrecking ball during the stadium's renovation in 1973. During its decades of service, this chair has witnessed dozens of World Series games, and the finest moments of the careers of Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, and Maris, as well as all of the other great players who have made the Yankees the greatest dynasty in the history of the game. The freestanding unit appears to be all original, with no evidence of restoration, and displays wear commensurate with its age and former use, including chipping and/or peeling to the blue paint and heavy oxidation to the exposed metal framework. 28.5 x 17 x 31 inches (with the seat unfolded). The substantial size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.  Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
