Pair of exceedingly rare 1970 spring-training souvenirs relating to the short-lived Seattle Pilots franchise. The Pilots were purchased on April 1, 1970, by future Hall of Fame Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, who immediately moved the team to Milwaukee and renamed them the Brewers; thereby making the Pilots the shortest franchise in Major League baseball history. 1) Cardboard “Press Parking” pass issued for use at “Pilots Field” in Tempe, Arizona. The pass displays the team name and logo, the year (“Spring Training 1970”) and also printed instructions to “Attach to Sun Visor.” 9 x 4 inches. Vg-Ex, with light corner wear and a few light creases. 2) Full ticket to the March 8, 1970, spring-training game between the Pilots and San Diego Padres at Seattle Pilots Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. This was one of the last Seattle PIilots games before the team moved to Milwaukee. 3.5 x 1.5 inches. Mint condition, with two punched cancellation holes. Total: 2 items (pass and ticket). Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
