On May 28, 1951, in a game between the New York Giants and Boston Braves at the Polo Grounds in New York City, Giants rookie center fielder Willie Mays recorded his first Major League hit by hitting a home run in his first at-bat against future Hall of Fame pitcher Warren Spahn. Offered here is a rare ticket stub from that game that has been encapsulated and certified as "Authentic" by PSA. This is one of only three examples ever evaluated by PSA, with only one having received a numerical grade. It is also the first example we have ever offered. Tickets from milestone events by Hall of Fame players have always been highly prized by collectors and this ticket is one of the scarcest relating to the legendary career of "The Say Hey Kid," Willie Mays. The ticket stub (1.625 x 3.25 inches), issued for a "Lower Res. Seat," displays a number of moderate creases throughout. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
