Original news photo capturing Jackie Robinson stealing home during Game 1 of the 1955 World Series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. Robinsons' successful steal of home took place in the top of the eighth inning, with the Dodgers trailing by two runs. Berra, to his dying day, always insisted that Robinson was out on this play and plate umpire Bill Summers' safe call elicited one of the most animated disputes in Berra's long career (the entire play can be viewed on the MLB website. Link: https://www.mlb.com/news/yogi-berra-jackie-robinson-and-stealing-home/c-151385362). A "United Press Association" news stamp appears on the reverse, as does the original paper caption, dated "9/28/55." The photo (8.25 x 6.5 inches; visible dimensions) displays a heavy horizontal crease along the top border, as well as a few lesser surface wrinkles. In apparent Very Good condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 14.75 x 13.5 inches. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
