Complete original wax box of 1971 Topps baseball containing packs from the fourth series (#394-523). A complete wax box of 1971 Topps houses twenty-four packs with each pack containing ten cards, for a total of 240 cards. The fourth series of 1971 Topps is highlighted by Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Bob Gibson, and Nolan Ryan, among others. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, it is entirely possible that this box includes several MINT and GEM MINT examples of many of these stars and other key cards. Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material and the owner of Baseball Card Exchange, has authenticated this box and provided a letter to accompany it, which reads in full: "To Whom It May Concern: This letter is being written for a 1971 Topps Baseball 4th Series 5 cent wax box that is labeled #X0180. It is in my best opinion that this wax box is 100% original and untampered with. The packs themselves are very clean and would grade in the NM to NM/MT range. This box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange and appears almost exactly as it did on store shelves nearly fifty years ago! This is an incredible and extremely rare unopened wax box from this very popular set. Total: 24 packs. Reserve $10,000. Estimate (open).
