Presented is a complete set of 1960 Topps baseball (plus fifty-five duplicates), which was Topps' last horizontal issue, highlighted by the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Carl Yastrzemski and Willie McCovey. Many of the biggest stars in the set, including Mantle, Mays, and Aaron, appear in the set more than once due to the All-Star card series. Mantle actually has three cards in this set, as he also appears on the #160 "Rival All-Stars" card with Ken Boyer. Condition of this set is 27% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 63% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 10% Vg to Vg-Ex (including ten with a slight trim). Nine cards are graded and encapsulated by PSA (six submitted by REA). The condition of the fifty-five duplicates is 67% Ex to Ex-Mt (including four Nr/Mt) and 33% Vg to Vg-Ex (including two with a slight trim). Complete 1960 Topps sets show up with far less frequency than many other sets from the era. This is a very attractive complete set which, in addition to all the special cards and scarce high numbers (#507-572), is loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1960s. The total SMR value for just the ten PSA-graded cards (with the one EX-MT+ 6.5 value adjusted down to the lower whole grade level, and not including the six-hundred eighteen ungraded cards!) is $1,420.
