Presented is a complete 66-card set of 1965 Philadelphia Gum/Glidrose "James Bond" trading cards, entirely graded and encapsulated by PSA. This set currently ranks third on the PSA Set Registry with an impressive 9.05 GPA. Based on the popular films starring Sean Connery in his role as Secret Agent 007, these black-and-white cards feature still images from three movies: "From Russia with Love," "Goldfinger," and "Dr. No." The reverse of each card features a description of the scene and the specific movie credit. This is an extraordinary set, ultra high quality throughout, and with a simply amazing degree of consistency. A tremendous amount of time and energy has been invested in the assembly of this high-grade set, with a concern for all condition factors, including centering and also overall eye-appeal. PSA Grading Composite: GEM MINT 10 (7 cards): #5, 6, 39, 43, 50, 58, and 66 (last card in the set). MINT 9 (35 cards): #4, 8-23, 25-30, 32-35, 42, 48, 51, 53, 54, 57, 61, and 63. NM-MT+ 8.5 (1 card): #31. NM-MT 8 (23 cards): #1-3, 7, 24, 36-38, 40, 41, 44-47, 49, 52, 55, 56, 59, 60, 62, 64, and 65. This is a remarkably crisp, fresh, ultra high-grade complete set of one of the most popular of all 1960s nonsport issues. The SMR value for just fifty-nine of the cards (excluding the seven GEM MINT 10s, for which there is no SMR value) is $2,301. Total: 66 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
