1952 Topps are extremely rare to find in uncut sheets, far more so than virtually any card issue of the era. No full 100-card production sheets are known to exist, though many years ago (in the late 1970s) a small number of sheet quadrants were discovered (partial sheets featuring 25 cards each). Some of the more heavily damaged sheets from this exciting find were cut into smaller, more presentable panels, which is likely where this panel (featuring eight cards) originates. All eight cards on this panel are fully printed on the reverse (black backs), defining them as uncut final-issue cards. This eight-card uncut panel measures 10.25 x 7.25 inches and features cards #1 Pafko, 2 Runnels, 3 H. Thomson, 4 Lenhardt, 11 Rizzuto (HOF), 12 Basgall, 13 Wyrostek, and 14 Elliott. The panel is bright, crisp, and clean, with vibrant colors, a few light creases, color added to the lower right corner (we can see the lower-right corner because it is exposed from the matting), and a small spot of paper loss on the reverse of the Pafko card. This is a very rare uncut 1952 Topps panel, which would be a worthy addition to any 1952 Topps, uncut sheet, or postwar-baseball collection. The panel is matted (double-sided to allow viewing of the reverse) to total dimensions of 14.5 x 11.5 inches. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
