Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. Rare and striking example of #627 Nap Lajoie from the 1913-1915 Pinkerton Postcard series. This series is closely related to the T5 Pinkerton Cabinet issue and features the very same image including caption design (in 3.5 x 5.5-inch postcard size) as appear on the T5 cabinets. Multiple styles are known to exist for these postcards, including scorecard-back examples, which allowed the holder to fill in a lineup and score a game on the reverse of a player postcard. The offered example is a blank-back variety. This card is crisp and clean, with no creases or wrinkles and just a little light wear to the four corners. Centered slightly toward the left. Pencil notations (partially erased in one area) on the blank reverse are responsible for the modestly assigned grade. An ideal sample featuring key Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie from this rare 1910-era issue. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
