Presented is an extremely rare and noteworthy “No B” printing variation from the classic T206 set featuring Bill Sweeney of the Boston Red Sox - missing the red ink printing process! The printing anomaly on this particular card is one of the most well-known of all T206 printing variations, and in the early days of collecting appeared on all formal T206 checklists. According to T206Resource.com, T206s were printed in six distinct color stages, with red as the final color pass. This card appears to have completely eluded the last stage of printing as not even a trace of red is visible anywhere. This can clearly be seen by comparing it to a final-process card. Even at a glance, the difference is very striking. Sweeney is missing the red trim from the cap, collars and sleeves of his jersey, and along with the “B” on his chest. T206 printing variations of this magnitude are rare. T206Resource.com notes that most of the known examples missing the final red step of the printing process are Boston and Cincinnati subjects. The missing red ink variation is graded and encapsulated GOOD 2 by PSA. This is an extremely unusual, interesting, rare, and very striking printing error from the T206 series. Reserve $200.
