Collection of autographs featuring many of the top performers of the "Big Band" era. The highlight of the group is a photo signed by Glenn Miller, who died in a plane crash in 1944 at the age of 40. The signatures, penned in a variety of inks, range in grade from "5" to "10," averaging "8/9." The items are in Excellent condition overall. 1) Glenn Miller (5 x 7 b&w promotional photo; Miller died in 1944). 2) Louis Armstrong (3.5 x 5.5 real-photo promotional postcard). 3) Gene Krupa (7 x 5 b&w promotional photo of his band). 4) Cab Calloway (8 x 10 b&w promotional photo). 5) Lionel Hampton (9 x 12 concert program, signed on the cover in pencil; also signed by members of his band: Gil Bernal, Benny Bailey, Roy Johnson [twice], and Milt Buckner). 6) Charlie Spivak (5 x 7 b&w promotional photo). 7) Oscar Peterson (on an interior photo in a 1958 Jazz at the Philharmonic British concert program; personalized to "Brian"; also signed on the interior by Roy Eldridge, Coleman Hawkins, and Gus Johnson. 8) The Ink Spots (circa 1980s promotional card signed by Sonny Hatchett and 3 other members of the group [illegible]. 9) Charley Byrd (8 x 19 b&w photo).
