Hank Aaron Adirondack block-letter (full name) model "63A" bat issued to Hank Aaron in 1968. Graded GU 5 by PSA/DNA. The grade of GU 5 is predicated solely upon the fact that the bat shows no use, but the reason for that is related to its provenance. This bat has been consigned directly from the niece of former Atlanta Braves pitcher Dick Kelley, who was Aaron's roommate in 1968. During the season Aaron gave Kelley this bat as a keepsake and it has remained in the Kelley family since that time. Aside from its lack of use, the bat is a picture-perfect Aaron pro-model bat and was even prepped for him, as evidenced by his uniform number ("44") written on the knob in black marker. Also written on the knob in red ink is the bat's factory weight: "33 1/2" (ounces). The bat is not cracked and remains in the same state as when Aaron gave it to Kelley 49 years ago. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33.7 ounces. LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open).
