1961 New York Yankees ticket stub issued for the club’s 81st and final game against the Boston Red Sox in which Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth’s longstanding single-season home run record. Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. This is one of only 5 ticket stubs from that historic game ever evaluated by PSA and the only example graded at this level, with none graded higher. Maris’ epic blast, a solo shot, occurred in the fourth inning with one out against Boston hurler Tracy Stallard. Surprisingly, only 23,154 fans turned out that day, in what was otherwise a meaningless game between the two rivals. 2.25 x 2.75 inches. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++.
