Collection of 4 programs (6.5 x 9.5 inches), spanning the years 1922 to 1936, each issued by either the New York Yankees or New York Giants. 1) 1922 New York Giants (vs. Cincinnati). Not scored. A faded black-ink notation written along the edges of the cover read "George Burns Day! 6/10/22 with Harry - Worlds Champ Flag Raised! - Judge Landis + a band." The Giants, who traded Burns to the Reds following the 1921 season, felt obligated to honor their former star during his first visit back to the Polo Grounds in 1922, which was on June 10th. Burns was given a diamond-studded watch as a gift during the formal ceremony prior to the game. Vg, with partial separation to the covers, and light discoloration. Together with a ticket stub (1.25 x 3 inches) from the game. Vg, with a paperclip impression at the top. 2) 1924 Yankees (vs. Cleveland). Neatly scored in ink to record a 9-2 Cleveland victory during the first game of a double header on July 18th. Ex-Mt. 3) 1929 Yankees (vs. Philadelphia). Neatly scored in ink to record a 7-3 A's victory on June 22nd. Foxx and Cochrane both hit home runs for the A's. Ex-Mt. 4) 1936 Yankees (vs. Detroit). Neatly scored in pencil to record a 6-4 Yankees victory on August 29th. Vg, with a vertical fold, toning, and a pencil notation on the cover. Total: 4 programs. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
